MCA is a three year (six semesters) course approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is a very practical program with 25 instructional courses, seminars and project work spread over the first five semesters. During the sixth semester students generally go to the industries and implement a real time project, which is directly useful to the organization concerned.
The MCA programme is inclined more toward Application Development and thus has more emphasis on latest programming language and tools to develop better and faster applications.
Students are trained in the fields of Systems Designing, Application Software Development, Enterprise Resource Planning, Computer Networks, System Administration, Web Designing and Development, Database Administration, Parallel and Vector Processing, Data Mining and Warehousing, etc.
The very fact that industries in India and abroad have been placing the MCA students on regular basis is a proof of the quality of the course and the students.
It is the only department which gives opportunity to both students completing BCA and also to the non-computer science graduates. It encourages students to be able to choose an education line which will eventually allow them to choose a career which students pursuing B.Tech & M.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology. Students doing MCA from our institution will eventually become good programmers as other Computer Engineers if they put in extra effort during their tenure of Education.
The course is designed to meet the skill requirement of any IT or Application related organization. It is an extremely balanced course with a lot of emphasis laid on planning, designing & building of complex commercial application software & system software and equal importance given to functional knowledge in various areas.

Admission Guidelines and Eligibility Criteria The minimum eligibility condition for admission to first semester of the course shall be as follows :-
Recognised Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 school level or Mathematics as one of the subjects at graduation level. OR B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Applications) Degree of three years duration from a recognised University. OR Bachelor Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects.
Admission is done in accordance with the provision and guidelines laid down by the competent authority of the Government of Haryana from time to time. The admission to MCA shall be done by Haryana State Counseling Society (HSCS)/ National Informatics Centre (NIC), Govt. of India through Online Off Campus Counseling. Admission to any institution will be governed by rules stated in Information Brochure of HSCS. |
